Peppermint Hot Chocolate Recipe

First things first, I must apologize for not sharing this recipe last week when the weather was below freezing.  Instead of writing this post, I was with the rest of the Houston area at a local home improvement store searching for materials to wrap our pipes.  There is good news though – our local weather guys say we have another cold snap headed our way this week.  So you’ll have the perfect opportunity to try out this yummy concoction!

I cannot describe how good this Peppermint Hot Chocolate is.  It’s creamy, minty, and warms your insides with each sip.  This recipe is best enjoyed while wearing cozy socks, by a fire, with a good book, and snuggled up next to your little ones or husband.  You can share if you want.  But that’s totally up to you.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Here’s what you need for the best Peppermint Hot Chocolate in the world ::

3/4 cup heavy whipping cream

3/4 cup milk

1/8 cup sugar

A dash of salt

3 oz bittersweet chocolate chips

A splash of peppermint extract

Andes Creme de Menthe Baking Chips

Whipped Cream

Hot Chocolate Ingredients

These instructions could not be more simple ::

Mix the heavy cream, milk, sugar and salt in a small pot.  Cook over medium heat until it begins to steam.  Add the chocolate chips and peppermint extract and stir until fully melted.  Pour the mixture into two small coffee cups or one large one {pictured}.  Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of the Andes Creme de Menthe baking chips.

Cheers, mamas!  Anybody else got a yummy hot chocolate recipe to try??
