My number one tip: When you hit a problem, remember that it's partner one and partner two united against the problem, not partner one against partner two. 

How do your expectations of fatherhood influence the way you interact with the father of your children?

As his partner looking on, I've noticed more emotional and mental fatigue with, of course, the physical fatigue piling up. There's something impactful about double gloving and gowning up and double masks and PAPRs and face shields and treating patients with only support measures . . . day after day.

As the years go by and the feelings settle in, I’ve found contentment in the familiarity and stability born from the mundane that comes after the sparks fly.

When you think about it, it makes sense. We fully commit to our children. So much of our energies are given to them -- barely having time for ourselves. Where is time for our spouses? I know my husband has to work. He knows I have to take care of the boys. We pretty much both keep our mouths shut. Now, how do we stop and fix this?

The number one fear of probably every mother on the planet is the fear of being selfish. And at the same time that we're avoiding selfishness, we're faced with the task of self-care. And don't forget about your spouse or partner with whom you are supposed to maintain and grow a relationship. It's exhausting trying to keep all the plates spinning.

Due to the extensive nature of this traveling season, it was wholly necessary for me to have help, especially in the evenings. Evenings are HARD. We're all exhausted, and the sprint to bedtime with a young school-ager and a toddler is real.
