These 30 days of Ramadan can be challenging at times. Even though I'm raising children and working, there is something that makes me look forward to the holiday and the challenge it presents.

Right or wrong, or perhaps just a highly personal and individual decision, I have no emotional or moral attachment to how my babies are delivered.

Here are some pocket-friendly activities (or free) to help burn your kiddo's energy.

As adults, we tend to overcomplicate things or get too technical. If you plan your language out ahead of time, you can avoid doing that. Remember, all conversations are manageable if you keep age and maturity in mind.

If I tried to take away a favorite item of my daughter's, she could care less! If I tried to get my son to clean his room by offering praise or positive incentives, he would be living in a trash pile. They have different motivators, but those motivators are pretty easy to spot.

As far as Grandparent's Day goes this year, my family is celebrating a little differently. We will continue to connect with my grandparents in ways that have worked for us during the pandemic.  Not only have these ideas encouraged and helped pass the time for my grandparents, but also have helped my children.
