Helping Childhood Hunger one Bowl at a Time {Sponsored Post : Genghis Grill & Kikkoman}

Disclosure : Genghis Grill and Kikkoman are sponsoring this post and we are grateful to have the chance to tell you about their involvement in raising funds in our community to help give back to children in our nation who are struggling with hunger.

There are more than 16 million kids in American households that struggle to put food on the table.  That is nearly 1 in every 5 children in America.  A child that doesn’t have a proper meal in their stomach to begin the day will struggle to pay attention at school, they will be sick more often (missing school), are less likely to then graduate high school and go on to college.  Lack of education will have a negative impact on their future economic outlook and job/career opportunities; they will then be less likely to sufficiently feed their families.  It is a cycle that can be stopped by people joining together to focus on making sure all children have the food they need to learn and grow.

NoKidHungry_campaign_10june2The No Kid Hungry Campaign aims to change this outlook by not only connecting kids in need with nutritious food but understanding that to really change things we must educate families on how to prepare nutritious and affordable meals.  Hunger and poverty are a global problem but it begins here at home, in our nation and in our own communities.

Genghis Grill recognizes the need to start in our communities and from September 1st – 14th 18 DFW Area Locations  are participating in a drive to contribute to the No Kid Hungry Campaign.  They have teamed up with Kikkoman (the #1 Soy Sauce maker in the U.S.) to raise awareness of the cause and the struggle of hunger in our nation’s children.  They will be donating $1 for every Chef-Made Bowl that they sell to feed our nation’s children and educate families.

Genghis Grill opened its first location in 1998 in Dallas and quickly grew to open many more locations throughout the nation. They have always supported local charities including involvement in the beloved Kidd’s Kids and has a program where you can work with certain locations to raise funds for a charity you feel passionate about.Johnson Sekin - Genghis Grill

Beyond playing an active role in supporting our communities Genghis Grill also sports an awesome menu for adults and kids!  A great alternative to running through a drive-thru on a night you can’t find the time or want-t0 to cook.  Rice and noodle bowls, salads and Asian tacos are just some of the items on the menu that can be catered to your taste.  Kids can choose from pasta bowls with chicken & broccoli, quesadillas, tacos and more, or even build their own bowls of their favorite meats and veggies.

In the next few weeks we definitely encourage you to swing by and try out their menu that sports lots of variety and healthy options for all.

Local businesses who make a point to take an active role in bettering the lives of the people around them further strengthen our communities. We are grateful to have businesses like Genghis Grill that do just that!
