EVMB local running events

I have been doing monthly posts on things to do in the area, but I’m changing it up a little bit this month. As the weather starts cooling down here in the East Valley, we are running low on excuses to get outside and exercise. One of the things that helps me the most to get moving again after the long summers is to sign up for an upcoming race or event and start training for it. Everyone is at different fitness levels, but with the different events available these days there is something for everyone! One of our site managers is doing an insane amount of half marathons this year. I personally did one this past winter and I have no plans to do another one…..ever (I may change my mind in a couple of years).

Just last week I signed up to do the Mesa Sprint Triathlon in October. I have done enough running and biking recently that I think it will give me the right amount of motivation to keep up the exercise. That is not realistic for everyone so don’t get the wrong idea. For me exercise is a way to clear my head, get outside, and feel good about my body. If you need an extra boost there are some great apps out there that take you from your couch to a 5k. Also be sure to check out some of our previous fitness posts. You will find everything from what to eat to great playlists. Just remember to have fun and remember every time you get out, you’re making progress!

I have rounded up a list of upcoming local races and events to help inspire you.

Espirit de She 5k or 10k. October 2 in Mesa.
