King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort – Review + Giveaway

Kings pointeA couple of weeks ago we loaded up the van and drove 2.5 hours up to Storm Lake to enjoy our first vacation as a family of four at King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort.

This was our second time staying at the resort and again it did not disappoint.

We pulled into Storm Lake around 11:00 am andย quicklyย and easilyย checked into our room. We stayed in a doubleย queenย suiteย on the third floor. Our room had aย balconyย that overlooked the lake. It was truly beautiful! The queen suite was perfect for our familyย as we have a one-year-old who goes to sleep around 7:00 pm, so we could put him down in the bedroom and hang out on the balcony or watch tv in theย livingย room without worrying about waking him up.

After we got settled in our room we headed down the Regatta Grillย ย where we enjoyed a nice lunch overlooking the lake. After lunch it

indoor water parkwas time for the main event…swimming!!! Despite being a chilly day (I think the high was 60 degrees that day) we decided to brave the outdoor waterpark. To my surprise the water was super warm! It actually felt better in the water than out. We swam outside for about thirtyย minutes but soon the sky filled with clouds and our littlest swimmer started shivering so we decided to head inside to the indoor waterpark.

I can’t say enough great things about the indoor waterpark! It has 3 big slides, a great area for little kids and it’s very own lazy river. We had the best time!

We took a break in the middle of the afternoon to drive around Storm Lake and explore. We stopped at the bakery downtown and grabbed some afternoon snacks to fuel up for round 2 of swimming.

We spent the rest of the afternoon bouncing back and forth between the indoor and outdoor waterpark. After we had our fill of swimming we enjoyed a pizzaย picnicย on the lawn of the resort overlooking the lake. We spent the rest of the eveningย exploringย the resort and walking around the lake.

After a good nights sleep by all, we started our morning off with the breakfastย buffetย at the Regatta Grill. We thought we better squeeze in one last swim before we had to leave so afterย breakfastย we headed down to the indoor waterpark (it was another cool and rainy day) where we had to literally drag our kids kicking and screaming when it was time to go home!

We had the best time at King’s Pointe! They helped make our first vacation as a family of four a memorable success. We hope to make this trip an annualย eventย and are already excited to go back next year!

  1. The slides, big and small! Though my 2 year old usually chickens out and needs coaxing while the kids behind him are waiting their turns.

  2. We have always wanted to bring the kids to this resort, plus it is close to the kids’ great grandparents in Alta whom they never get to see! Sounds like a great excuse for a visit!

  3. My whole family loves lazy rivers and my little boys are going to flip out adding rock climbing to the waterpark fun. Win or not I see a weekend getaway for us before school starts! Thanks for sharing!

  4. I think my boys 3y&1y would love the water slides here. Everything is right here everyone will have so much fun.

  5. My 7-year-old daughter just had her 5th hearing repair operation. She just got cleared yesterday by her doctors to swim like a fish! She couldn’t get her ear wet at all the last month and she’s been dying to swim like crazy. This place looks perfect!

  6. I love that they have lots of stuff for the little ones to do to. So many places make it hard to keep toddlers entertained with the activities catered to those over 42 inches.

  7. My son would go absolutely crazy if we went to King’s Pointe, he loves playing in the water. He would also love to rent the Jet Ski’s and go for a ride on the lake. So many fun things to do to keep a family super entertained.

  8. I love to see if we could get our little girl to go down the green slide and can’t wait to try the lazy river! Renea.

  9. My family loves hanging out on the lazy rivers…I think we could spend a whole afternoon just going around and around. So relaxing!

  10. The kids have been dying to stay here! I don’t think I would be able to tear them away from the water slides!! I would love to let them experience the fun ๐Ÿ™‚
