Iowa league of heroes

We are a group of people in the Midwest who love doing super things as superheroes! Making a difference and making kids smile is our goal.

The Iowa League of Heroes strives for an authentic look. Setting the standard in character appearances, each member has invested hundreds if not thousands of dollars in design, fabrication, location, and purchase of parts for our suits. We want to make sure they don’t see a guy/girl in a costume, but a hero in a suit. Most importantly, we want to maintain high standards to honor the creators of these heroes, leaving no doubt that we hold each one in the highest respect.

Sanctioned Marvel Actors for the entire Midwest region of the United States, Spidey and The Dark Knight formed the Iowa League of Heroes to donate time and resources for causes that reach beyond financial borders. Hospital visits and special causes are the driving force. Making kids smile, making a difference in our community, and helping others accomplish similar goals is our overall purpose.

The Iowa League of Heroes currently has six heroes on the team as of 2014. Several others are in the making and expected to join in throughout 2015.

The Iowa League of Heroes makes appearances at charity events, fundraisers, promotional events, and any other venues we are needed. Check them out for your next event here.

Our Experience

DMMB’s first personal encounter with our new friends from Iowa League of Heroes was at our SOLD OUT “Hang with Heroes” event in November. We wanted our guests to experience super heroes, but also our local Polk City heroes, and the event was a huge success.

We were blown away with the League’s authentic looking costumes, of course, but the engagement and involvement with the kids was over the top! Each character portrayed his or her persona perfectly in voice and action and were “in character” 100 percent from the moment they arrived until the last child left!

The League characters were kindhearted, charming, and overall simply OUTSTANDING with the kids and parents alike. Each hero greeted the kids and spent time visiting and posing for photos. And, they seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves which was really fun to see. It was easy to observe the instant connection between our local heroes of the Polk City Police and Fire Departments and the super heroes in this “merge” of the heroes photo op!
