PI fell in love with the movie version of Eva Peron’s rise from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion.  Now, I can’t wait to catch Tony Award-winning musical, written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, here in Dallas starting tonight!

Dallas Summer Musicals is presenting this dynamic and moving story of a powerful woman burdened by greed, ambition and fragile health.  If you’ve never heard the story or seen the movie, I’m sure you’d recognize the song, “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” which is one of the show’s biggest hits!P

Critics at the New York Times said the following about the off-Broadway show, “No composer since Puccini has managed to write tunes that adhere so insistently to the memory.  And this production accords EVITA the kind of respect usually reserved for Verdi and Wagner.”

The show opens this evening, April 15th and runs through April 27th at Music Hall in Fair Park.   You can get tickets by clicking here to the Dallas Summer Musicals website.
