Advocare for Busy Moms + Giveaway

Dallas Moms Blog has partnered with Advocare Independent Distributor Christina York as part of our “Shop Local. Support Moms” campaign and to provide more information on how Advocare can be beneficial to moms–both physically and financially.

You have most likely heard about Advocare products but are not exactly sure what they are, where to find them, or how they can help you. Advocare was initially made popular being used and endorsed by athletes such as NFL players Drew Brees and Jason Witten; however, there are many products that can benefit the busy mom!

“After having my second child, I was faced with two things: How to get out of my maternity clothes, and how would I be able to contribute to our ever plummeting household income (a result of my decision to leave my career and stay home with my children). I was introduced to AdvoCare’s 24 Day Challenge where I lost 15 lbs, 5 inches, and had a new found level of energy that I did not think was possible with a newborn.” ~Christina York

Advocare products

Three every day products for busy moms:

1. Spark

Not your average energy drink! Spark is a powder that you add to water. It comes in a Sparkvariety of flavors. I prefer the fruit punch, but I also just tried the watermelon and was surprised how much I liked it despite not being the biggest watermelon fan. My husband loved it!

I will admit that I am Diet Coke’s biggest fan, but I can honestly tell you that Spark provides longer sustained energy and also better mental focus. I also benefited from a decrease in afternoon headaches.

Mom-on-the-Go Tip: Portion out the Spark in those formula dividers so you have it ready when you are on the go.

2. Bars

Advocare offers a variety of bars in different flavors. Until last week, my favorite was the apple cinnamon bar. Now, after having received a free sample, it is the Gingerbread flavor. Oh my goodness. It is delicious! I tried it last week on a day when everyone at work happened to bring all sorts of yummy tempting baked goods, and I was completely satisfied with my Gingerbread AdvoBar which was much more nutritionally balanced, offering 11g protein. These bars are really great for moms on the go who may count lunch as the crust you just cut off your child’s sandwich and a handful of goldfish crackers.

3. Meal replacement shakes

This is my go-to breakfast item. I just pull out a packet of the shake and throw into my blender with some ice and I am out the door. The shakes are 220 calories with a 1:1 protein to carbohydrate ratio. If I’m feeling fancy, I add a little fruit to change up the flavor. The chocolate mocha is seriously delicious.

But Advocare is so much more than just quick snacks and supplements. Sometimes moms need to recharge, and Advocare helps provide an opportunity to do this with their Cleanse.

The Cleanse

The Advocare Cleanse is the 1st phase of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge and why it is a great way to jumpstart any weightloss program. When I hear of people mention they are doing a cleanse, I immediately think of that water with lemon and cayenne pepper thing or some sort of juicing…basically I think that those people are giving up solid food for days which I think is totally crazy.

My husband and I completed the 10 day cleanse in January. The cleanse basically consists of an herbal cleanse (Senna extract, cranberry juice powder, burdock extract, astragalus extract, milk thistle extract, schisandra extract, beet root powder, odorless garlic bulb powder), daily vitamin packs, Spark, and a suggested meal plan.

At first, I was hesitant because part of the cleanse meant I had to stop eating cheese (gasp!) and drinking Diet Coke (double gasp!). After a little thought, I came to grips with the fact that 10 days is really not long.

Now, I know you are thinking about that herbal cleanse piece and what it means for you when you rarely have some private bathroom time. Let’s just be honest. I was worried about it too. Without getting into detail, I’ll just say that it is nothing to worry about. Again, it is not that kind of drastic cleanse. The greatest benefit of the 10 day cleanse for me was the quality of sleep. I woke up so well rested, which always makes me such a better mommy.

The 24 Day Challenge includes the 10 day cleanse and an additional 14 days of vitamins, supplements, and diet guidelines.

Starting January 6, Christina York will be hosting a group 24 Day Challenge Competition with prizes given to the top 2 winners. If you want the group support, coaching, and meal plans and like healthy competition, then this would be a great way to kick off the new year.

My husband and I will both be participating in the challenge in January to jump start our resolutions to live more healthfully and lose some of this holiday weight. The suggested eating plan consists of cutting out dairy and processed foods.

24 Day Challenge BundleA typical suggested day consists of a meal replacement shake, fruits, veggies and lean meats. I am excited about it! The testimonials are inspiring. While weight loss is one of my goals, I am so ready to get back to the boost of energy and quality sleep!

Advocare also offers opportunities for moms to help supplement their families’ income from home!

During the challenge, I learned about Advocare’s business opportunity, and I knew it was the answer I had been looking for. I earned $500 last month and am continuing to double my income every other month. The best part of my job is that not only do I get to improve my families’ finances, but I get to help other families increase their income as well and that is a win-win to me! ”  ~Christina York
