I think it has become pretty obvious that the mamas on this blog are pretty crazy about Christmas. It is by far my favorite holiday, and I geek out just a little bit more every year. This year has been a little lower key than I would normally like given I’m due to give birth any day. {I had to sneak a pregnancy reference in I guess.} Our house is a little less decorated than normal, and we don’t have lights outside (I am the official family lights hanger.), but the spirit is still strong inside, haha.

I thought it’d be fun to talk about some Holiday favorites…movies!  I have heard a big debate over what constitutes a Christmas movie (just being set at Christmas or being ABOUT Christmas). Whatever, here are some favorites from the Gurley family!

10. The Santa Clause –The scene where Tim Allen is grabbing his expanding belly and asking the doctor to explain a ‘little’ weight gain is hysterical…and reminds me {again} of pregnancy. Ha!

9. Die Hard – This is one of those that isn’t ABOUT Christmas, but I still consider it a Christmas movie. I’ve seen all the Die Hards and this one is just awesome. And the Christmas setting just adds to the specialness. And Professor Snape is the bad guy. Seriously. Doesn’t get much better!

8. Love Actually – To be honest, this one took some time to grow on me, but now I love it. Which storyline is your favorite? I think either Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister or Colin Firth. Love both those actors!

7. Miracle on 34th Street – You just can’t have a Christmas movie list without this movie on it! Such a feel good movie.

6. Elf – Will Ferrell nails this it – I laugh throughout the whole movie. His costume might be the best part.

5. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas – Unlike Will Ferrell, I am not a Jim Carrey fan, so the movie on my list is the 1960s cartoon. We have it set to come from Netflix this year to introduce to Trent. We already read the book, so I think he’ll love the movie!

4. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – Any movie with the Griswold family is one that should be watched repeatedly.

3. Home Alone – There are too many priceless scenes to name!

2. A Charlie Brown Christmas – Who doesn’t love this movie – the music, the story, the sad little tree??

1. White Christmas – My hubby and I watch this one every year together. It brings the biggest warm fuzzy to my heart, and I get all misty-eyed thinking about watching this as a family when our kids are older.

So there you have my list of best Christmas movies.

What are your favorites? What should I add to my Netflix queue right away?
