Raise your hand if you’re potty training?  ((Raises Hand))

Ugh.  That’s all I have to say about it.  We’ve been “lightly” potty training our tot for about 9 months now.  The problem is, I travel so much that when I am home, the last thing I feel like doing is taking trips to the potty every 15 minutes.  So, the thing is that Caroline totally understands the concept of going potty–75% of the time she tells us “I need to go potty” and we hustle to strip her and get here there, but it’s that 25% of the time when she’s busy playing mommy or cooking in her kitchen that the chances of her letting us know are shot.

<<Before I go on, I have to tell you that Shark Tank is one of my favorite shows.  I love that people get the opportunity to take their great ideas to the next level.>>

Several weeks ago, a local inventor, Lori, reached out to Allison and me about her idea “Test DRYves”  Test DRYves are disposable underwear inserts that increase awareness for children to help them kick the habit quicker.  The idea came to her when she was going through a similar struggle with her little guy.  She discovered that the difference between a diaper and a pull up were too similar to her son and he was not reacting appropriately when he had accidents.

This is how they work:

BEFORE an accident:

Test DRYves™ are a unique absorbent underwear insert specially designed for maximum protection with minimal bulk between the legs, so they feel quite different than a diaper or training pant. Test DRYves™ have a center retaining area that pools fast flowing urine, while the flexible tapered sides absorb and channel fast flowing fluid to the front and rear of the insert for maximum absorption. This allows for a more comfortable dry fit, that moves with the child and doesn’t feel like a bulky diaper or training pant between the trainer’s legs.

DURING an accident:

Unlike diapers or training pants which quickly wick fluid away from the source during an accident, Test DRYves™ are designed to allow fluid to run along the body for a short time before absorption so that trainers are alerted to the accident while it is occurring – Activelytriggering awareness.

AFTER an accident:

Unlike diapers or training pants where the trainer can easily ignore the problem, Test DRYves™ uses superabsorbent material designed to quickly swell and feel awkward between the trainer’s legs, creating awareness and Actively prompting the trainer to take action.

Sounds cool, right?  This is definitely something we need in that Barry home to help our girl get from 75 to 100% potty trained. One thing…Test DRYves aren’t on the market yet.

So if any of you all watch Shark Tank, like me, you know that the process that takes something from a brilliant idea to a product that’s on the shelves is long and expensive and we NEED to help our fellow Austin mama out.  In order for Lori to be able to go to venture capitalists and take her product to the next level, she needs mamas like you to take a quick 10-question survey <it literally look me 1 minute>.  The more feedback she gets, the more likely she is to get the funding she needs to help moms like me and you get our kids out of diapers and into undies.
