Two weeks from today is our very first Mommy Foodie Fair! You may remember our Moms Night Out last fall that gave us a chance to mix and mingle with other San Antonio mamas. We’ve mixed it up a little this time and have partnered with our very own City Moms Blog Network and Dishcrawl to bring you Mommy Foodie Fair! Moms all over the country will be gathering as part of this national event featuring yummy food, swag bags, a chance to learn about some local businesses, and to have a night away from the kids. When: Tuesday, May 6, from 7-9pm. Tickets available here!
Where: La Frite Belgian Bistro in Southtown San Antonio, 728 South Alamo Street
La Frite is the perfect place to have a moms night out due to it’s cool and relaxed environment. This restaurant is a great space and has fantastic food. Not sure what exactly Belgian food is? It’s okay, I’m not that well-versed in it either, but I assure you that the Belgian and French based menu will include tasty appetizers that you can’t find at one of the staple mom & kid-friendly restaurants! You can step outside the box a little and enhance your palate with what is offered, and there will be a bar with drink specials! Parking is primarily available on the street, so feel free to grab a friend and carpool down to the hip Southtown San Antonio.

Christina Welch is a Founding Senior Director with Stella & Dot. She’ll have all the latest spring and summer accessories from Stella & Dot. Ladies can shop for Mother’s Day, schedule a date to host a show of their own, or learn how to start their own business as a stylist! This jewelry line is truly fabulous so we can’t wait for Christina to share it with everyone.
Annie Vu of Annie’s Petite Treats is one woman cake-ball rockstar that will be there with samples of her delectable treats. She’ll also have some treats on hand for you to take home should you decide to share them with another mom, your kids, or even your child’s teacher (it will be Teacher Appreciation week and these are a perfect gift)! But don’t worry if you decide to keep these treats for yourself, we won’t tell because they are that good.
In addition, there will be goodies and info from the following national sponsors: NEWTREE Gourmet Chocolate Bars, Amoretti, Koochikoo Cookies, Beanfields, Snapea Snacks and JuicePlus. Each sponsor will have a table set up at La Frite where they will be handing out goodies for each attendee!
Who: Our Mommy Foodie Fair welcomes moms from all over San Antonio looking for a fun night out with great food!
If you are worried that you won’t know anyone else there, well don’t be! One of the best part of our events is meeting other local moms and meeting new friends. Have a group of girlfriends that want to come? Bring them along! Tickets are only $30 and with food, appetizers, swag bags and the chance for giveaways, you’ll be set!
We will also be announcing the winner of our Alamo City’s Amazing Mom contest! We will be bringing you the list of finalists next week to vote on but it’s not too late to nominate a mom in your life to be recognized. Her house might not always be clean, her hair might not always be washed and sometimes she’s late, but she always manages to have a smile on her face, her kids are happy and she is one of the best moms you know. Supermoms aren’t about saving kids from burning buildings but about building others up! Nominate your favorite mom for Alamo City’s Amazing Mom today! Nominations will be accepted through Friday, April 25 at noon.

Featured Non-Profit: The San Antonio Community is near and dear to our hearts and we select a local non-profit to support with each of our Moms Night Out events. For our Foodie Fair on May 6, we are thrilled to be collecting items for Clarity Child Guidance Center. One in five local children are effected with a mental illness. Clarity Child Guidance Center exists to transform the lives of children and families. They are the only nonprofit treatment center specializing in children ages 3-17 in San Antonio and South Texas and they provide compassionate mental health care through both inpatient and outpatient programs.
We will be collecting the following items for Clarity Child Guidance Center. Anyone bringing an item to donate will receive FIVE extra tickets to enter our giveaways!
– Art supplies of all kinds – markers, crayons, paints, pastels, construction paper, drawing paper, etc.
– Sports equipment for outdoor play –footballs, basketballs, etc.
